A section of Manchester United supporters at Old Trafford were caught on camera in disagreement following their side's humbling defeat to Brighton in the opening game of the Premier League.

Man United went into their opening Premier League fixture on the back of a fairly successful pre-season tour but the Red Devils were brought down to earth with a crushing defeat.

A brace from Pascal Gross, who has made it a habit to score against Man United, ensured the Seagulls upset the odds.

The unexpected results increased the tension within the stands as photos posted on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, showed a section of the supporters appears to engage in a fight.

In the snapshot, a man seems to have his hand around the throat of another spectator. Fans from the section below then got involved as others attempted to diffuse the situation, while many simply looked on in horror, reports Daily Mail.

It is unknown what triggered the fight however, what is conspicuous - the fanbase were definitely unhappy with their expectations unmet on matchday one of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign.
