How did Van Nistelrooy's side clinch the Dutch Super Cup?

Van Nistelrooy's side fell to an early setback when former Tottenham Hotspur attacker Steven Bergwijn cut inside the box to unleash a powerful drive into the roof of the net after 15 minutes.

However, a combination of Coady Gakpo and Guus Til rallied PSV from a goal down to give PSV the lead just before halftime.

Ajax will level the score through Manchester United target Antony nine minutes after recess but Gakpo restored the lead five minutes after the half-hour mark before Til grabbed his second of the night.

Substitute Mohammed Kudus reduced the deficit with 18 minutes left on the clock but PSV will hold on before putting the final nail in the coffin of Ajax when youngster Xavi Simmons scored the fifth and final goal for PSV.

How Van Nistelrooy made Cristiano Ronaldo shed tears explained

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has revealed that Ruud van Nistelrooy once made Cristiano Ronaldo cry at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese superstar joined the Red Devils at the very tender age of 18 from Sporting CP in a deal of around £12.24 million.

As a youngster, the forward was labelled selfish, as he wanted to score many goals but Nistelrooy was vehemently against it.
