  • Former England and Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Ronaldo has no loyalty towards Manchester United
  • According to the former Villa man, Ronaldo would join Liverpool ‘if he could’
  • Talks between the 37-year old and Manchester United have not solved anything and Ronaldo remains adamant he wants to leave

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future continues to make headlines as the days go by, with no resolve in sight in the situation between the player and Manchester United.

The 37-year-old has made it clear that he wants to leave Old Trafford for a club that is playing in the Champions League and is willing to see United rip up his contract.

According to former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor, Ronaldo at the moment has no loyalty to United, and would join bitter rivals, Liverpool, if the opportunity came by.

Agbonlahor appeared on TalkSport where he discussed Ronaldo’s current predicament, saying:

“Cristiano Ronaldo would join Liverpool this summer, if he could. They are big rivals of Man United but it’s about Ronaldo.
“He will go anywhere he can still play Champions League football, add to his record and win titles.
“I don’t think Ronaldo has any loyalty to United, Real Madrid or Juventus.”

Ronaldo missed United’s preseason tour in Thailand and Australia “due to family reasons”, and is yet to feature for the club under Erik Ten Hag.

At the moment, The Sun reports that United are unwilling to let him go, despite making his stance very clear.

Ten Hag also reiterated Manchester United’s stance recently, telling BBC Sport that the five-time Ballon d’or winner was still part of his plans next season.

“Clear, he is not for sale. We are planning with him. And I am looking forward to working with him."He said.
“I cannot say anymore because the situation is still the same as last week.”

Klopp confident of Liverpool’s chances

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp is unfazed by Liverpool's narrow loss to Red Bull Salzburg, hinting his side will reach its full potential in a fortnight.

Klopp's charges slumped to their second defeat in pre-season when Austrian Bundesliga side Red Bull Salzburg pipped their illustrious opponents on Wednesday, July 27.

The 55-year-old gaffer is not sure about his team's preparedness for the upcoming season as Saturday's Community Shield against close rivals Manchester City beckons, but believes his side will reach full potential for the upcoming season.
