Christian Eriksen's squad number at Manchester United has been officially announced.

The Danish playmaker, who joined United after his short-term deal with Brentford came to an end this summer, became Erik Ten Hag's second signing of the transfer window.

Eriksen has been handed the No.14 jersey for the upcoming season after his first-choice shirt number was reportedly blocked by teammate Bruno Fernandes, who previously wore the No.18 shirt.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder succeeds United academy graduate Jesse Lingard in the no.14 shirt, who vacated the number this summer.

He was on target for the Red Devils in a behind-closed-doors preparatory game against Wrexham as Ten Hag's charges brushed aside the Welsh club.

Eriksen would hope to gather more playing time under his belt as Man United wrap up its pre-season preparations with friendlies against Spanish outfits Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano.

Eriksen admits to strange sentiments ahead of his move to United

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that New Manchester United signing Christian Eriksen made some interesting sentiments in his very first interview as a Red Devil.

On Tuesday, July 26, Manchester United’s Carrington training complex was graced by some big names as Cristiano Ronaldo returned to England for showdown talks, while Sir Alex Ferguson also made way to the grounds, possibly to be part of the discussions.

Eriksen was also part of the players present at Carrington on Tuesday and the Denmark international was photographed in United colours for the very first time.
