  • Ten Hag exhibited his perfectionist tendencies during United’s win over Crystal Palace
  • The United boss was not impressed by a certain piece of play by David De Gea, and his reaction was caught by the mics
  • United beat Crystal Palace for their third win on the spin in preseason

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag could be heard yelling at David De Gea during the friendly win over Crystal Palace at Melbourne Cricket Ground on July 19.

The Dutchman has only been at United for a few weeks but has already enforced some of his philosophies on the team with visible effects.

United are looking rejuvenated ahead of the new campaign, and prior to the Crystal Palace game, the Red Devils secured back-to-back wins against Liverpool and Melbourne Victory.

One outstanding moment of the game was when Ten Hag, known for his perfectionist tendencies, was left fuming at De Gea for sticking with the ball too long from a back pass.

In a clip from the match doing rounds on social media, the United boss can be heard yelling an expletive at his goalkeeper, who only kicked the ball upfield as he was being closed down by a Crystal Palace attacker.

Shortly after De Gea kicked the ball away, mics picked up Ten Hag screaming, ”What the F*** are you doing?”

Martial, Sancho on target, again

As far as the game was concerned, United did little in the way of mistakes as they once again proved to be lethal in attack.

It was Anthony Martial who opened the scoring for his side, benefiting from a Diogo Dalot cross before Rashford double the lead in the second half after being teed up by Donny Van de Beek.

Jadon Sancho , who has earned plaudits online in recent weeks, made sure of the result after being put one-on-one with the goalie.

Maguire booed by fans

In the same game, Harry Maguire endured another difficult moment as Manchester United captain as he was booed loudly by fans.

The 29-year-old, who has struggled for United, particularly last season, did not have the most positive reception as fans jeered him in the first half every time he touched the ball.
