While the Red Devils have been bizarrely inactive since the window opened, they have been linked with a number of players who they are yet to seal deals for.

According to The Mirror, Ten Hag is hoping to use his Dutch connections by eyeing two players in the shape of Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia.

De Jong has been United's top target this summer, with the club hoping to reunite the Barcelona midfielder with Ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Reports suggest the Red Devils are in a pole position to land both De Jong and Malacia, with Sky Sports claiming a deal has already been agreed for the latter to move to the Theatre of Dreams.

How Man United could line up next season

Should De Jong and Malacia move to United next season, there is every chance they will walk straight into the starting XI.

Ten Hag is expected to stick with David de Gea as his first-choice goalkeeper, with Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane taking charge in the heart of defense.

Diogo Dalot is expected to keep his place on the right, with Malacia pushing Alex Telles and Luke Shaw to the bench.

De Jong is expected to take a commanding role in the middle of the park alongside Fred and Bruno Fernandes.

Despite being linked with a summer exit, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to lead United's attack line next season, with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho joining him upfront.

Man United reach deal to sign Netherlands international

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Manchester United are closing in on a transfer deal for Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia.

Malacia was said to be on the verge of joining French giants, Lyon, before United hijacked the transfer.

The Dutchman's potential move to Old Trafford has been described as imminent, with Feyenoord's sporting director confirming the youngster could join United.
