  • The English Premier League is once again dominating the transfer market in Europe after spending more than other European leagues this summer
  • Manchester City and Liverpool have already shown their might this summer with the signing of top forwards, Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez
  • Other top European leagues, including the Ligue 1 and La Liga have also made bold statements with their signings this summer but are yet to match up with teams in England

The English Premier League teams are showing their financial muscle this summer after outspending other major leagues just weeks into the current transfer window.

Top players such as Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez have made significant moves into the EPL, whereas others such as Gabriel Jesus have switched teams between Premier League teams.

According to a report via Marca, the Premier League is the highest spenders, already having spent at least €448million of the €1.208billion paid for players this summer.

The Serie A clubs have so far spent €284.388m followed by Bundesliga teams with €218.68m, LaLiga Santander clubs €141.80m, and Ligue 1 teams €115.15m.

It is widely expected that the English Premier League will spend close to €1billion this summer transfer window as some top teams, including Chelsea are yet to start splashing the cash on new players.

Man Utd agree two deals in a day

Meanwhile, Manchester United has an agreement in place to land Frenkie de Jong as well as agreeing to a fee to sign Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, The Express reports.

De Jong will cost the Red Devils an initial £56m with add-ons inflating that fee further as the Dutch midfielder, whose move is still dependent on a successful medical, has been Erik ten Hag's top summer target.

Man United are now ready to move on to other plans with Christian Eriksen, Antony and Lisandro Martinez, all also targets.

Tottenham offer £100m transfer fee for 2 big Premier League players

Earlier, Sports Brief reported English Premier League club Tottenham have offered £80million plus a further £20 million based on appearances for Everton pair of Richarlison and Anthony Gordon.

The Toffees are willing to sell Richarlison who is valued at £50 million as rivals Chelsea are also hoping to land the Brazilian ahead of next season.

But Everton are keen on retaining the services of winger Anthony Gordon who is a massive fans’ favourite.
