New Manchester United head coach Erik ten hag has hit the ground running after his players resumed for preseason training.

Ten Hag was present at the club's Carrington Training Complex on Monday and on Tuesday as he seeks to familiarise himself with his squad.

He has already brought forward the time the players are supposed to report for training. The Daily Mail reports that United players are now expected to be at the Training Complex at 9 am.

Previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is understood to have been a little soft on training schedules and players normally came in at 10 am. Ten Hag's one rule will become the first time it has been used since the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

It is understood that assistant manager Steven McLaren was the first one to show up at 7:45 am before ten Hag followed suit after 8 am. All the players were present before the slated time of 9 am.

Manchester Evening News also reports that the other rule change that the former Ajax boss has brought with him is that players must eat together and socialise after training sessions to build on team spirit.

Manchester United players resume for preseason training as the Erik ten Hag era begins

Sports Brief had earlier reported that the new era at Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag officially took off on Monday, June 27 as the Dutchman took charge of his first-ever training session with the team.

At least 20 United stars were present at the session, although there were some notable absentees including Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire.

Some of the missing stars were either absent due to being on international duty, or for personal reasons.
