Manchester United chiefs have declared that Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale this summer after been linked with a move to Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

There are reports that those in charge of Bayern Munich are planning to sign Cristiano Ronaldo as replacement for Robert Lewandowski who could leave for Barcelona this summer.

Chelsea on the other hand are said to be offering Cristiano Ronaldo the chance to play in the Champions League in the coming season.

So far in his career, Cristiano Ronaldo has never played in the Europa League, but that is what he will play next season if he should remain at Old Trafford.

According to the report on Sky Sports, Manchester United new boss Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is part of his plans for the coming season.

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Rio Ferdinand included former Ghana and Chelsea star Michael Essien in his top five African players to have played in the English Premier League.

Essien spent nine years at Stamford Bridge, helping Chelsea win multiple titles including the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

Ferdinand, who was making his comments following Sadio Mane's Liverpool exit, named the Senegalese along side Essien and Didier Drogba in his top five.

Mane left Liverpool during the week after six successful seasons, winning every trophy in England as well as the UEFA Champions League.

Meanwhile, Essien and Drogba were a part of a formidable Chelsea side under Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti.

Yaya Toure stormed the English Premier League with dazzling football, making Manchester City a force to reckon with while Sadio Sane's teammate Mohamed Salah completed his list.
