Manchester United legend Paul Ince has urged the club to sign Sergio Aguero once the summer transfer window opens.

Aguero is out of contract with Man City at the end of the ongoing season and looks set to leave on a free.

Metro UK reports the Argentine is yet to agree a new deal with City, opening doors for his departure in the next few weeks.

It is understood Premier League side Chelsea and La Liga giants Barcelona are plotting a move for the experienced forward, with the two clubs already linked.

However, Ince believes United should do everything within their reach to convince Aguero to move to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to be desperate for another centre forward to bolster his attack-line ahead of the next campaign.

The Red Devils have already been linked with moves for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund hotshot Erling Haaland.

But Ince contends his former side should have Aguero in their shortlist of summer targets if they fail to land Kane or Haaland.

Aguero joined City in the summer of 2011 from Atletico Madrid under the then manager Roberto Mancini in an initial five-year-deal

He has enjoyed an illustrious career at the Etihad-based club spanning to a decade, during which he has won four Premier League titles and one FA Cup. The 32-year-old is currently City's all-time record goal-scorer.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Barcelona have joined in the race to sign Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero as he enters the last six months in his contract at the Etihad.

The Argentine international is free to talk to other clubs and Barca are keen on the former Atletico Madrid star.

The 32-year-old has not been offered a new contract at City and by the end of the season, he would have spent ten years with the Manchester-based club.
