Manchester United are set to begin a new era under new manager, Erik ten Hag after a disastrous campaign that will see the Red Devils finish with their lowest points tally in the league.

The Dutch manager has agreed a deal to tutor the 13-time English Premier League champions and transform them into title contenders again.

According to a report via 90MIN, Erik ten Hag will be in attendance when Manchester United travels to face Crystal Palace in the final game of the English Premier League season on Sunday, May 22.

The former Ajax manager will attend the game alongside his assistant, Mitchell van der Gaag who has been in London with ten Hag.

Both managers had to cut short their holidays early in order to begin the huge task awaiting them at Manchester United ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Man United cancel end of season awards ceremony

Meanwhile, Manchester United will not hold the annual end-of-season awards this term after the club made the decision to cancel the yearly awards.

According to United In Focus, the Man United players are reportedly too embarrassed at the prospect of the event, and have requested it be cancelled, with full agreement of the club.

The Red Devils have had a season to forget by their standards as they are set to finish the season trophyless thereby prolonging their long wait to end their trophy drought.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Erik ten Hag could sell as many as six first-team players as he kicks off his Old Trafford rebuild.

Ten Hag's arrival comes at a time United have endured a frustrating season, with the Manchester club set to end the campaign trophyless.

The Dutchman has now been tipped to embark on a summer overhaul that will see a number of players offloaded to raise funds for new signings.
