According to a SunSport report, a tribunal handling Otokiti's case also heard that the security guard was caught watching TV from the director's box at Old Trafford, a restricted area.

The father of three had been moved to Old Trafford after he got a misconduct warning for watching television in a coach’s office at the Carrington training ground.

Tayo Otokiti sues Manchester United for wrongful dismissal

Otokiti is understood to have sued his bosses at Controlled Solution Group for what he thought was wrongful dismissal.

The Nigerian-born man claimed he was only sacked because of his skin colour, asserting he had been racially discriminated against.

However, a Manchester tribunal that heard his case dismissed his claims, all but validating Otokiti's sacking.

“The claimant would have known from the warning he received at Carrington that watching television in a restricted area was grounds for dismissal," The Sun quoted employment judge, Jenniffer Ainscough, saying.

"Any reasonable person would know that the east stand, was a restricted area in light of the fact that it was known as the 'tower of power' because it contained the directors’ offices and the executive boxes," she added.
