  • Adeyemi rejects advances from Manchester United as the teenager sets his eyes on joining Borussia Dortmund in a rumored five-year deal
  • United were hoping to convince the RB Salzburg attacker with a hefty payday to join them under new manager Erik Ten Hag
  • Adeyemi keen on filling the void that will be left by Erling Haaland who is Manchester City-bound. City are said to be ready to activate his release clause

German teenager Karim Adeyemi has rejected huge wages to join Manchester United. Adeyemi is understood to have picked Borussia Dortmund instead as his next club.

The RB Salzburg striker has enjoyed a stellar campaign this season and reports had emerged that Manchester United were interested in bringing him to England.

Goal.com reports that The Red Devils were ready to offer as much as 150,000 euros per week to convince him to sign a deal with them. Adeyemi is however convinced that Dortmund is the ideal next step for him.

Manchester United are in the hunt for a new striker as a number of attackers are set to leave at the end of the season. Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, and Edinson Cavani are all likely to depart. Antony Martial’s future is still unknown.

Striker wants to fill Haaland's shoes

Adeyemi is possibly intrigued by the fact that he will walk into Dortmund’s starting eleven, considering Erling Haaland’s imminent departure. Haaland is sought out by Manchester City who are ready to activate his release clause.

The 20-year-old currently leads Austria goal scoring charts with 17 goals. He also popped in with a couple of goals and assists in Salzburg’s Champions League campaign before they fell to Bayern Munich in the round of 16.

Goal further understands that he will now sign a five-year deal with the deal as he seeks to emulate Haaland’s impressive streak in front of goal. He has also been previously linked to Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag will have to look elsewhere in his striker pursuit. Benfica’s Darwin Nunez remains a strong option for United. Napoli are also said to willing to listen to offers for Nigeria talisman Victor Osimhen.

Fernandes keen on winning trophies at United

Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported how Bruno Fernandes wants to win trophies at Manchester United and not individual honors.

The midfielder was speaking after United beat Brentford 3-0 at Old Trafford on Monday night. He opened the scoring for his side in what was his 50th goal in United colors.

Fernandes is yet to win any trophy at Old Trafford since joining them from Sporting Lisbon in 2020.
