Daily Mail now reports Burnley have made Rooney their No.1 target for the vacant managerial job at the club, with the Man United icon, believed to be more than willing to take up the role.

According to The Sun, Rooney is keen to manage in the Premier League and would be tempted to move to Burnely if the opportunity comes up.

However, the 36-year-old will have to contend with competition from several other managers who have been lined up for the Burnley job.

The managers include Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder, Sunderland's Alex Neil and ex-West Ham and Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Mauricio Pochettino says he plans to continue in his position as Paris Saint-Germain next season despite speculations suggesting the Argentine could be fired.

Pochettino’s future has been under intense scrutiny after failing to guide PSG to the UEFA Champions League title as they were embarrassingly eliminated in the round-of-16 by Real Madrid.

According to a report via the BBC, the Argentine coach has now confirmed he and French striker, Kylian Mbappe, will not be leaving PSG at the end of the season when questioned about his future.
