Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a brilliant birthday message to Argentine legend Diego Amando Maradona who clocked 60 on Friday, October 30.

Maradona who is celebrating his diamond jubilee is regarded by many as the greatest player to every grace the football pitch on the planet.

The Argentine legend recently admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo and his countryman Lionel Messi are cut above the rest, admitting that the Argentine, as well as the Portuguese, are the best footballers of the modern era.

Maradona said no player in the modern era will match half of what both players have achieved in the game of football.

And Ronaldo has sent a stunning message to the birthday celebrant Maradona and as he wished him well, CR7 said that the legend is the number one, but after Cristiano. He told TYCSports:

"Hello Diego (Maradona), how are you? I want to say congratulations for your 60th birthday, wish you the best, enjoy life, big hug brother!
"You are the number one, but after El Bicho (Cristiano) eh? See you."

Recall that Barcelona defeated Juventus 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday night, October 28 courtesy goals by Ousmane Dembele and captain Lionel Messi.

Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo was ruled out of the cracker as he was yet to recover from the dreaded coronavirus at that time.

Ousmane Dembele's 14th minute goal as well as a Lionel Messi late strike from the penalty spot proved the difference as Barcelona defeated Juventus 2-0 at the Allianz Arena in Turin, Italy.

It was more painful for the Old Lady as they lost the epic match right at home and Barcelona were quick to take a swipe on them on social media.

"We are glad you were able to see the GOAT on your pitch,” the Catalan club tweeted via their official handle.

And Juventus replied:

"You probably looked it up in the wrong dictionary. We'll bring you the right one at Camp Nou"

And Legit.ng earlier reported that Diego Maradona says he wishes to score another 'hand of God' goal against England.

The Argentine legend scored with his hand during their quarter-final clash against the Three Lions at Mexico 86' World Cup.

Despite several appeals from English boss Bobby Robson and his players, the referee made the goal stand.
