Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday afternoon, 23 April, scored on his return to Manchester United squad, but his effort was not enough to save the Red Devils from suffering a 3-1 loss at Arsenal.

The Premier League encounter was a tough one for Manchester United as Cristiano Ronaldo tried his best to save his team, but Arsenal players were more determined to get the win.

Having defeated Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal started their Premier League game against Man United impressively and it took them only three minutes to score the first goal through Nuno Tavares.

When did Cristiano Ronaldo score for Man United?

The Portugal international restored parity for Manchester United in the 34th minute after Bukayo Saka had doubled Arsenal's lead via a penalty two minutes earlier.

The first half at the Emirates stadium however ended 2-1 in favour of Arsenal with Man United fans thinking their players would soar in the second half.

Granit Xhaka scored the third goal for Arsenal in the 70th minute as the Gunners recorded a 3-1 win over the Red Devils.

Soon to be Ghana forward named in English Premier League team of the week

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Eddie Nketiah was named in the English Premier League Team of Week 32 after his heroic performance for Arsenal in midweek.

The English-born Ghanaian forward scored twice as the Gunners cruised to an important victory over their London rivals Chelsea on Wednesday night.

According to Whoscored.com, the soon-to-be Ghana international scored the appropriate ratings to make the team.

Eddie Nketiah was making his first appearance in the team of the week after 15 English Premier League games this season.

The goals against Chelsea were his first and second of the season in the English topflight, having bagged five goals in the Carabao Cup.

Nketiah is joined by Liverpool quartet Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Virgil Van Dijk and Andy Robertson. Burnley's trio Nick Pope, Nathan Collins and Josh Brownhill also make the squad alongside Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes and Joao Cancelo of Manchester City.
