Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has disclosed that he will not be forced out of his home following a bomb threat targeted at his house.

Mirror reports that the embattled defender confided in his friends that such threats will not force him to abandon his home temporarily.

It was gathered that security officers stormed his house with sniffer dogs after the player received a bomb threat via email which came following Manchester United’s 4-0 loss to Liverpool in the Premier League.

According to reports, his house was extensively searched as the player lives there with his partner and their two daughters.

A spokesperson for Maguire said:

"The safety of his family and those around him is obviously Harry's number one priority. He will continue to prepare for this weekend's fixture as normal and we will not be commenting in any further detail at this time."

SunSport reports that Maguire has confided in friends that he will not let the actions of one "cowardly fan" force him out. A source said:

"If that proves to be the case [that a fan was responsible], they are an utter disgrace to the name of this proud football club."

Maguire accidentally hits Pogba during EPL tie

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba was left fuming on Saturday, April 16 after his captain Harry Maguire inexplicably injured him during Manchester United’s clash against Norwich City.

United emerged 3-2 winners to boost their hopes of finishing in a top-four spot, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a sensational hat trick.

At the half-hour mark, Maguire inadvertently struck Pogba while jumping for a corner by Alex Telles, and he ended up drawing blood from his teammate.

Van de Beek reacts to Ten Hag’s appointment

Sports Brief earlier reported that Donny Van de Beek has made his feelings known about the appointment of Erik Ten Hag as the new Manchester United manager.

Ten Hag will take over at Old Trafford from next season, and is expected to reintegrate Van de Beek back into the United squad.

Van de Beek has had an underwhelming spell as a Manchester United player so far, and he was recently shipped to Everton on loan.
