Marcus Rashford confronts Man United fans

Following the defeat, United players were confronted with criticism from supporters who gathered outside Old Trafford.

A footage from the incident shows Rashford reacting to one fan before he turned to face the crowd.

However, moments later he was ushered back towards the team bus by security.

Reports have since emerged suggesting Rashford swore at the United faithful, allegations the Englishman has since denied.

"A video can paint a thousand words and in this case lead to inaccurate info being shared on social media," a statement shared by the United attacker said in part.
"I did not gesture with my middle finger. I am not entitled. This isn’t my ego. I’m upset. I’m disappointed. And in that moment it was silly but I was being human," he added.

Man United eliminated from Champions League

Ralf Rangnick's charges were sent packing from the Champions League in the Round of 16 following their 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, March 15.

United were unable to make their dominance during the match count as a compact Atletico Madrid side frustrated them in the final third.

Renan Lodi's header in the closing stages of the first half made the ultimate difference as the La Liga giants booked their place in the last eight on a 2-1 goal aggregate.
