Twitter user @Hybreed_SA (LESEDI) shared a photoshopped picture of Mosimane in a Manchester United jacket, saying that only he could save the club. Mosimane's local, continental and international successes have seen his star rise as he runs out of achievements to aim for on the African continent.

Mosimane has strong views about the prospect of African coaches, particularly black ones, being given the opportunity to coach in Europe, as had been reported by Sport24.

Either way, the comments did not hold back.

Sibusiso Manzan said:

"If this can happen I'll laugh louder first because anything can happen. My fear is the European media."

@LandeGumede17 said:

"Jokes aside he should be working in the Premier League. He's better than half those managers , has a more than one continental trophies and arguably best coach in Africa. Some of the Premier League teams would be lucky to have him."

@panyaza8 said:

"... with Mandla Ncikazi as his assistant, surely The Red Devils should win the PL, Champions league. Supposedly, PSL is better than AFCON, Egyptian EPL is better than THE Premier League. Percy Tau is a superstar who couldn’t force his way into the starting 11 at BHAFC..."

Khumbulani Ngwenya said:

"It always seems impossible until it's done."

Tshiamo Tshabalala said:

"It's always a dream managing United... until you realise you have Maguire and Phil Jones as your centre-backs."

Al Ahly's Pitso Mosimane in Europe: Coach sets off controversial debate about black coaches overseas.

Pitso Mosimane has provoked a mixed bag of reactions to his comments about giving up on his hopes of coaching in Europe.

As reported by Sports Brief, the highly successful Al-Ahly coach also had the English Premier League in his crosshairs, criticising its clubs for not giving black coaches enough opportunities.

He was speaking at a press conference hosted by the South African Football Journalists Association.
