According to the Sun, Rodgers has already bought a house in Manchester ahead of a possible move to the Red Devils in the summer.

The ex-Liverpool boss has been on the radar of the Red Devils following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November until Ralf Rangnick was named as caretaker manager.

And now it appears the Northern Irishman could be set to take over at Man United when Rangnick's tenure comes to an end after he purchased a property in Wimslow, where numerous United and City players live.

Rodgers has been having a tough time at Leicester City this campaign and he’s open to departing the club, three years after taking charge following his exit from Celtic.

The Foxes are 12th in the Premier League and they were humiliated by Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup last week, losing 4-1 at the Forest Ground.

United have shortlisted the likes of Erik Ten Hag, Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique, as well as Rodgers, in their list of managerial targets.

The club expect to start opening talks with prospective targets in the coming weeks and they could even announce an appointment before the end of the season.

Ralf Rangnick is being consulted on the search, as he will become a club advisor when he moves upstairs at the end of the season.
