'Big Six' want City punished

Sky Sports now reports that many clubs feel simply stripping Manchester City of the league titles they won during that period, or forcing them to pay fines, won't have a huge effect.

Interestingly, the report further states the clubs that are pressing for the toughest of actions are the proverbial 'Big Six' - Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Guardiola cuts glum face

Sports Brief also reported on Pep Guardiola being spotted for the first time since Man City were charged with breaching the Premier League's financial guidelines.

The league body announced on Monday, February 6, that the Citizens were facing more than 100 alleged breaches of financial rules.

The latest happenings at the Etihad Stadium seem to have taken a toll on the mood at the club, with Guardiola cutting a dejected figure during a training session.

Gunner to determine City's fate

Sports Brief also reported on an Arsenal member being appointed as the head of the independent commission investigating the charges levelled against Man City.

Murray Rosen KC, who lists himself a Gunner in his bio, is now set to head the commission which will determine if the defending champions are guilty.

The lawyer is the chair of the EPL's judicial panel and will be expected to form a three-member team to listen to submissions from both parties.
