Wright, a Premier League Hall of Famer, played with some of the best midfielders in England, but Toure is his favourite.

"No one in Premier League history dominated like Yaya Toure. No one. Argue amongst yourselves," he wrote cheekily on Twitter.

Toure was a member of the historic Manchester City team, that beat Manchester United to the Premier League title on the final day of the 2011/12 season.

With the Ivory Coast national team, he helped the West African nation win the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and was four-time African Player of the Year.

These days, the 41-year-old works with Tottenham's youth set-up as a coach.

Yaya Toure lands Tottenham job

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that African football great, Toure was set to be named Tottenham Hotspur youth team coach ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The Manchester City legend has been working with Tottenham's developmental team since December last year after he acquired his coaching badges.

According to the Evening Standard, the 39-year-old is set to join the North London club's coaching staff on a permanent deal.

Arsenal rejected 20-year-old Yaya Toure

Arsenal missed the chance of signing one of the best African footballers of all time in Yaya Toure, after former manager Arsene Wenger described him as 'completely average' while on trial.

A 20-year-old Toure auditioned at Arsenal in 2003, in hopes of playing for the North London club as a start to his career in Europe.

However, the versatile Ivorian failed to convince Wenger in a pre-season friendly against Barnet.
