Not even the great Aguero, arguably the best striker in Manchester City's history, survived the cut.

"If your ideal weight is 79-80kg and you were 80 kilos and 100 grams, you would be fined and you don't play. But it can happen! You come across a little bit of chicken for example then you are going to be 50 grams over."

Aguero left Manchester City at the end of the 2020/2021 season after a glorious stint at the club. He left having scored 184 Premier League goals and becoming the club's all-time top scorer.

He joined Barcelona on a free transfer but was forced to retire early due to heart complications.

Aguero hopeful of Lionel Messi's return to Camp Nou

The Argentine also weighed in on Lionel Messi's potential return to Barcelona.

Sports Brief has reported that Lionel Messi’s reunion with Barcelona is gaining momentum and his former national teammate, Sergio Aguero has added to the speculation of the Argentine’s return to Camp Nou.

Messi was forced to leave the Catalans for Paris Saint-Germain last year as Barcelona’s poor financial structure, coupled with an inflated wage setup, made it impossible for them to afford him.

Aguero has now revealed that Messi was excited about renewing his contract with Barcelona as he wanted to play alongside him at Camp Nou.
