Jack Grealish's comments on Newcastle United forward Miguel Almiron continue to be disproved by the Paraguayan, who is having his best spell in the Premier League.

In a viral video, the Manchester City star appeared to mock Almiron, saying Riyad Mahrez should be taken off the pitch as he 'played like him'.

Grealish recorded the video during Man City's Premier League title parade, and it seems the Newcastle star took the jibe personally.

Since the season started, Almiron has been one of the Magpies' best players, helping Eddie Howe's men into the top four after 12 matches.

In the Tottenham game on Sunday evening, the 28-year-old was on target again, scoring a phenomenal solo goal as Newcastle won 2-1 away from home, according to ESPN.

Since he signed for Newcastle in 2019, Almiron started slowly, failing to live up to the hype. He has scored 15 Premier League goals for Newcastle, according to Transfermarkt.

Six of those goals have come this season however, while Grealish has scored just once this season.

When he scored Newcastle's second last evening, fans reposted the Grealish video comparing the two forwards, according to Sportbible.

The England forward was angrily targeted by Newcastle fans for mocking their player and they showed Grealish no mercy.

One fan said that Grealish's comments was a bullying tactic.

Another said Almiron took the taunt to heart.

"Yeah, Almiron really took that Grealish comment PERSONALLY ."

The other said he needed to insult more players to rejuvenate them.

"Nah Grealish needs to come out & call Sancho a waste of space. If it works for Almirón then it’ll work for him."

Another said Almiron showed what he can do.

"Almiron really told Grealish to come outside ."

Jack Grealish criticised by pundit

Sports Brief earlier reported on Jack Grealish being told not to be so precious, after he angrily fired back at popular pundit Graeme Souness.

Initially, Souness called out Grealish, saying he was 'good, but not a great player' and stating he hasn't lived up to his £100 million price tag.

Grealish hit back, saying he did not understand why Souness always seemed to talk about him.
