  • Erling Haaland's agent has claimed that the Manchester City striker will become the most expensive footballer in history
  • Haaland was signed for £51 million and has more than repaid that with 20 goals in 14 games this season
  • PSG star is currently the most expensive footballer, who was signed for €222 million from Barcelona in 2017

Erling Haaland's remarkable start to the season at Manchester City was expected as he fit like a glove in the expertly constructed City team.

His agent has said that he expects the Norway striker to be the most expensive footballer in the sport's history, setting a colossal price tag on the young striker.

The Manchester club sealed the surprise signing of the lethal striker from Borussia Dortmund in June for £51 million. So far, some say he should have cost way more than the aforementioned amount, according to Sky Sports.

He has already scored 20 goals in all competitions for Man City this season and is on track to break several goal-scoring records in England and Europe, according to Trasfermarkt.

Haaland's agent reveal striker price

According to the Daily Mail, Haaland's representative, Rafaela Pimenta, said the striker's market value will skyrocket to unprecedented levels in the future.

"I think Erling will be the first player to achieve a transfer that will be around £1bn. If you put together his football value, his image value, his sponsor value, it is for sure £1bn. It’s normal to compare Erling with Mbappe so you have a little bit of an idea of the market."

According to the Athletic, Man City have set a release clause of 200 million Euros, but that figure only applies to clubs out of the Premier League.

Haaland pace to match Ronaldo

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on how many goals Haaland will need to average per season to reach 700 club goals like Cristiano Ronaldo.

Haaland is currently on 155 club career goals, including 86 for Borussia Dortmund, 20 for Molde FK, 29 for Red Bull Salzburg and 20 for Manchester City.

Therefore, he has 15 seasons to score 545 goals if he plays into his late 30s.
