Benjani Mwaruwari's shoes remain very difficult to fill. However, his son Benjani Junior is hoping to do just that.

Kick Off reported that 17-year-old Mwaruwari signed with English National League club Yeovil Town F.C.

According to New Zimbabwe, a club statement read:

“Yeovil Town are delighted to announce that Benjani Jr has signed professional terms with the Club. Arriving from Portsmouth in January 2020, the youngster made an instant impression, playing up a year group in the EFL Youth Alliance League."

“With the 17-year-old signing his first professional contract, it means an Under-18 player has signed professional terms with Yeovil Town for the third season in a row, continuing the previous success of Ollie Haste & Toby Stephens."
“Following in the footsteps of his father, who was also a professional footballer for the likes of Manchester City, Portsmouth & Auxerre, Benjani Jr now makes his first steps in the professional game.”

Mwaruwari appears to be a genuine goal-poacher like his dad, having netted 25 scores and assisting 16 times in 30 matches for the under-18 team.

Mwaruwari Sr. was the Premier Soccer League's Player of the Season as well as the Players' Player of the Season for the 2000/01 campaign, while playing for Jomo Cosmos.

The English Premier League is one of the best in the world and is being watched arguably everywhere in the world.

Many African players have played and are still playing and doing well in the Premier League. The likes of Didier Drogba, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Sadio Mane and Emmanuel Adebayor scored hat-tricks in the world's most-watched league.

Zimbabwean legend Benjani Mwaruwari achieved the feat twice in the 2007/08 season. He got the first one when Portsmouth beat Reading 7-4, before getting his second against Derby County in a 3-1 victory for the Pompey.
