The number 10 position has slowly disappeared in modern football. The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Kevin De Bruyne and Cristian Eriksen are the last of a dying breed.

Managers like Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp deploy a 4-3-3 formation meaning wide forwards are their main creators. The midfield now contains number 8s who can play deep and farther forward. Sports Brief looks at the best playmakers in football, according to FourFourTwo.
