Nesta’s take

Nesta, who is famous for forming one of the most formidable defensive partnerships alongside Paolo Maldini during his AC Milan days, weighed in on the Haaland debate with some interesting sentiments.

Appearing on Copa 90, the defender was asked whether he would be able to handle Haaland if he was in his prime.

“I can play (Haaland) yeah,” He said.
“Because I played against Ronaldo the Brazilian. Haaland is good but the other one (Ronaldo) was something different.”
“I played against Messi, against Cristiano; but the Brazilian Ronaldo was different,”

The former defender was also asked to give advice to modern defenders who had to deal with Haaland’s prowess in front of goal.

“Try to stay close to him. Too much space and you are dead,”

Guardiola’s reaction to Haaland’s latest goals captured on camera

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Erling Haaland left Pep Guardiola agape after he netted twice for Man City during the Champions League.

The Norwegian picked from where he left on Sunday during the Manchester derby, finding the back of the net twice in City's 5-0 win against Copenhagen.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a hot start to life since he joined the English champions, having already scored 19 goals in just 12 appearances.
