According to Mirror, the Norwegian is set to earn £45 million per year at City, which is £865,000 per week, an astonishing figure for arguably the best player in the world at the moment.

Manchester United legend Ronaldo was reportedly the highest-paid player in the league, but the new details conclude that Haaland could be top of the list.

PSG star Kylian Mbappe was thought to be the highest-paid player in the league, but according to Marca, he earns £42.5 million annually.

However, Lionel Messi's £64 million contract given to him by Barcelona remains the highest contract given to a footballer.

Pep rubbishes Haaland Real Madrid rumours

Sports Brief earlier reported on Man City manager Pep Guardiola dismissing reports that Haaland had a clause in his contract that would allow him to to join Real Madrid in 2024.

This would be absurd since the youngster is enjoying the best run of form in his career.
