Manchester City fans all over the world will always be happy to see Haaland in their squad on match-day with the expectation that he would score at least a goal, brace or hat-trick.

During the Citizens' last Premier League game against Manchester United, Haaland was in stunning form again as he scored hat-trick against the Red Devils.

And who are these African players?

According to the stats on GOAL, the likes of former Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni and ex-Chelsea star Didier Drogba are among these African stars.

1. Yakubu Aiyegbeni

Yakubu scored hat-tricks on four occasions in the Premier League with the last coming on 3 December 2011, and he is among 5 players who netted hat-tricks for 3 separate Premier clubs.

2. Mohamed Salah

Salah has scored four hat-tricks in the top tier for Liverpool and the Egypt international is one of the best strikers in the world.

3. Emmanuel Adebayor

Adebayor is tied with Drogba on three hat-tricks, but holds a special record of his own in the Premier League.

4. Didier Drogba

Drogba ended his reign in England with three Premier League hat-tricks which the Ivorian recorded for Chelsea.

5. Tony Yeboah

Yeboah years back was one of the best strikers in the Premier League and twice scored hat-tricks for Leeds United both in 1995.

6. Sadio Mane

Mane is currently playing for Bayern Munich in Germany, but before the Senegalese left England, he scored hat-tricks twice for Liverpool.

7. Riyad Mahrez

The Algeria international scored his first hat-trick in the Premier League for Leicester City when they won the league title and got his second with Man City in November 2020 against Burnley.

8. Benjani Mwaruwari

Mwaruwari scored hat-trick twice in the Premier League with his first in 2007 when Portsmouth beat Reading 7-4, while he got his second that same season against Derby County.

9. Demba Ba

Ba scored his first hat-trick in the Premier League for Newcastle United against Blackburn Rovers in September 2011 and got the second against Stoke City a month later.

Mikel Obi has no regret picking Chelsea over Manchester United

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how John Obi Mikel finally broke his silence on the decision to ignore his pre-contract with Manchester United and join Chelsea in 2006.

A 17-year-old Mikel Obi impressed Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who was set to get the Nigerian join the English giants.

However, a late offer from Chelsea saw the Nigerian leave for London, where he signed for the Blues. A decision he says was the best of his career.
