According to Goal, Stones revealed the hilarious reason the Portugues star decided to name his dog stones in a funny video.

Bernardo said to me, 'If I get a dog John, I’m going to call it John, John Stones'.
I was like, ‘Alright, why?’ He said, 'Because I want every time I get my dog or shout my dog, I’ll think of you and telling you to come to me like I own you'.
Anyway, the next minute he gets a dog. And I said, 'Oh nice Bernardo, what you got?' 'I've got a French Bulldog and I've called it John like I said I would'.

Stones added that although it was a strange way to appreciate him, he accepted it as a compliment.

We've got a good relationship, me and Bernardo. So for him to have a dog and for his Mrs to accept calling it John as well, he must like me. So I'll take it as a compliment in some way.

Rumours of Silva's transfer to Barcelona were gathering pace this past summer, but he ended up staying at Etihad. City are attempting to win the Premier League for the third time in a row this season.

Jack Grealish told he's not a great player

Sports Brief earlier reported on Graeme Souness's brutal assessment of Grealish in City's shirt, claiming the Englishman is not great.

Souness added that the most expensive British footballer always takes too many touches resulting in him missing the picture. Grealish completed a 100 million move from Aston Villa last season but is yet to light up Etihad.
