  • Erling Haaland has built a name for himself as one of the top strikers in world football at the moment
  • Known for his prolific form when it comes to scoring goals, Haaland has also coined celebration styles
  • The striker debuted two of his styles in his first game in the Premier League, where he scored twice

Apart from his lethal nature in front of goal, Erling Haaland has also captured the world's attention with his celebration styles.

So famous and unique have his celebrations been that one of them has been incorporated into the famous video game by EA Sports, FIFA.

But what do these celebrations mean for the Norwegian striker? Does he just do them for the sake of it, or do they have a meaning like Lionel Messi's fingers pointing to the sky celebration? Sports Brief takes a look at Haaland's top three celebrations.

1. Yoga/Meditation pause

Perhaps the most famous of Haaland's celebrations, the striker usually sits down, wrists on his knees as if he is doing yoga after scoring a goal. He marked his first goal in the Premier League with the same celebration.

In an interview with Esporte Interativo, Haaland explained that he likes to meditate.

It makes me feel calm and gives me tranquillity. This is why I sometimes celebrate like that when I score.

2. Huge leaps in the air

Well, this one is not as choreographed as the yoga celebrations. This one usually looks more of an outburst of emotion whenever he scores a goal.

Comparisons can, however, be drawn between his celebration and Cristiano Ronaldo's famous 'siuuuu' celebration. Haaland is a self-confessed fan of Ronaldo.

3. Finger in the ear

One finger in the ear, another one pointing to the crowd. This is another celebration synonymous with the former Borussia Dortmund striker. He actually used it after cooly dispatching his second Premier League goal off a Kevin De Bruyne pass.

He is yet to explain the meaning of this one, but the general understanding when a footballer uses such a sign is to rile up his fan base or the away base, depending on where he wants to get a reaction from.

Erling Haaland reveals he dreams of Kevin De Bruyne giving him assists everyday

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne took to their Instagram accounts to exchange some wholesome messages after bagging victory in their opening game of the season.

Haaland bagged a brace in his first-ever game in the Premier League after joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund.

De Bruyne was instrumental in setting up his second goal by providing his trademark defence-splitting passes.
