  • Man City have reportedly included Kieran Tierney in a four-man shortlist of full-backs they want to sign
  • The Premier League champions are keen to add more depth to their squad as they seek to defend the crown this term
  • Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo are currently the only senior full-backs on City's books following the departure of Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal

Manchester City could reportedly make a late swoop for Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney ahead of the summer transfer window deadline.

Pep Guardiola is keen to add more depth to his squad this summer, with the signing of an experienced left-back now a key priority.

According to Metro UK, City are on the verge of signing Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht after agreeing a deal with the Belgian side.

However, the Spain Under-21 international is not currently considered a replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko, who swapped City for Arsenal.

It is understood that Gomez will need to be assessed on his readiness for the Premier League, after which a decision will be made on the role he will play.

Should Guardiola decide that he needs more time to develop, there is every chance he will be sent on loan, paving way for the signing of an experienced full-back.

Man City eyeing summer move for Kieran Tierney

The Telegraph reports that there are four main names for the role, with Arsenal's Tierney among them.

Ironically, Tierney has been pushed down the pecking order at the Emirates following the arrival of Zinchenko, who joined from City.

The Scotland international has been struggling with injuries in recent weeks which hampered his pre-season.

However, he came off the bench late on during Arsenal’s Premier League curtain-raiser against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Bernardo Silva breaks his silence over a potential move to Barcelona

At the same time, Sports Brief has also reported that Bernardo Silva has broken his silence about the uncertainty surrounding his future amid keen interest from Barcelona.

Silva, who is held in high esteem by Barca coach Xavi Hernandez, admits he doesn't know if he will still be at Manchester City beyond the summer transfer window.

Despite reports this week that no bid has been made by the Blaugrana, the Portuguese international has refused to rule out a move out of City in the coming weeks and confirmed his personal stance over leaving.
