Talented Ghanaian midfielder, Darko Gyabi, has joined English topflight side Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Per the Athletic, the 22-year-old signed a four-year deal believed to be around £5million from current league champions Manchester City.

The club confirmed the arrival of the Ghanaian on their official website on Monday, July 5, 2022.

“The fans are what has attracted me the most. I played here last season and the fans were crazy in an Under-23s game. I can’t imagine how that’s going to be in a full stadium," Gyabi said after completing the move.

Darko Gyabi's transfer follows the signing of Kalvin Phillips who headed in the opposite direction.

The attacking midfielder impressed in City's under-18 side in the 2020/21 season, providing 10 goal contributions in 17 games.

The Cityzens splashed out £300,000 on the then 14 year old in 2018, signing him from Millwall.

Meanwhile, Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling is reportedly finally set for a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for the England international for weeks now but nothing has been forthcoming.

However, Daily Star reports that talks between the Blues and City over a transfer deal for Sterling have accelerated in recent days and a deal now seems likely.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Kalvin Philipps is set to wear the No 4 shirt for the Cityzens for forthcoming season. Unfortunately, he is changing from the No 23 he wore during his stint at Leeds United.

That's because Man City retired the no.23 shirt back in 2003 in the memory of of their former Cameroonian football star Marc-Vivien Foe.

Foe played for Manchester City on loan from French giants Olympique Lyon during the 2002/03 season.
