  • Bernardo Silva asked Barcelona officials to consider signing him last year as he wishes to fulfil a childhood dream
  • Silva's agent has also been in communication with top Barcelona officials who are said will consider a deal should Frenkie De Jong leave
  • Manchester City have no desire to let the former AS Monaco man leave and have slapped an 80 million euros price tag on him to dissuade suitors

New reports have emerged that Bernardo Silva asked Barcelona to sign him via a text message in 2021.

The Manchester City star has been at the centre of a silent war between Pep Guardiola and his former player turned coach Xavi Hernandez.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims that Silva's agent Jorge Mendes has been in constant communication with Barcelona's President Joan Laporta over the 27-year-old's desire to move away from the Etihad.

Barcelona are hampered by financial constraints that have prevented them from competing effectively in the transfer market. Laporta could consider the move should Manchester United succeed in buying Frenkie De Jong.

Silva is believed to be a childhood fan of the Blaugrana after watching retired Portugal international Deco play for the side.

Bayern Munich place a huge price tag on Barcelona target Robert Lewandowski

Sports Brief had earlier reported that German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have reportedly placed a massive sum of £52million to sell their striker Robert Lewandowski who is wanted by Barcelona.

After the end of the season in Germany, Robert Lewandowski explained that he is ready to leave Bayern Munich and has also told the club's chiefs to allow him to make the move.

The arrival of Sadio Mane at Bayern Munich means that days of the Polish striker at the club are now numbered. Bayern Munich chiefs are aware that Robert Lewandowski wants to leave, but they won't be selling him cheaply.
