Manchester City have announced that 36-year-old English goalkeeper Scott Carson has signed a new one year deal at the Etihad stadium following the approval of manager Pep Guardiola.

Since joining Manchester City in 2019 from Derby County, Scott Carson has only been able to feature in two games for the Citizens as Ederson remains the number one at the Etihad.

But despite his age, Pep Guardiola believes that the English goalkeeper will still be useful to the club next season in all competitions.

Manchester City's new signing Erling Haaland praises role of Ghana coach in his career

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Erling Braut Haaland praised Ghana coach Otto Addo for guiding him at the early stages of his career at Dortmund.

Otto Addo helped Haaland transition from Austrian football to the German Bundesliga, as he took less time to establish himself at the Signal Iduna Park.

Haaland completed his 60 million euros switch to Manchester City this week, and in a documentary for his last days at the club, the striker hailed the Black Star coach.

Otto Addo is revered at Dortmund for his role in developing the talents of young players at the club.

Several youngsters including America's Giovanni Reyna and England's Jude Bellingham settled at the club quickly because of Otto Addo's leadership.
