Mamelodi Sundowns coach unhappy with time wasting
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngithi has a bee in his bonnet.
Mngqithi has called out teams that partake in intentionally wasting time during matches in an attempt to neutralise a superior opponent. He called on the authorities to take a firmer stand on this negative tactic.
Mngqithi was speaking following a frustrating but dramatic DStv Premiership match against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha. Peter Shalulile struck an injury-time winner in a 1-0 victory to send the defending champions to the top of the table for the first time this season.
Mamelodi Sundowns beat Chippa United
The result proved just how cruel the game of football can be.
However, on the balance of play, Sundowns deserved something out of the match.
Shalulile's Namibian compatriot Lloyd Kazupua, who was named man-of-the-match, was in near-unbeatable form between the sticks for the hosts against their relentless hosts.
