It’s that continued success that attracts big-name players and it’s why Sipho Mbule opted to sign for Sundowns.

The former SuperSport United player recently explained why he wanted to join the Brazilians, explaining that he wanted to win trophies, Soccer Laduma reported.

“I want to play on the highest level and I want to win trophies. That is why I joined Sundowns,” Mbule explained.

The midfielder was unveiled as a Sundowns player on Friday, signing a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The Real Master Chef, as he is also known, was also linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.

Mbule was suspended by Matsatsantsa in April for allegedly disrespecting his teammates and members of the technical team. He was then told by the club’s CEO’ that he would never play for the team again.

Mbule has played 100 games for SuperSport United, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists, TransferMarkt confirmed.

Supersport United suspends Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns 'target' Sipho Mbule for Disrespect

Want-away midfielder Sipho Mbule has been suspended by his club SuperSport United. This turn of events was revealed by club CEO Stan Matthews after Mbule was missing from a training session.

Mbule was widely linked with Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns during the January transfer period, but a move from SuperSport failed to materialise.

It is believed that the 24-year-old midfielder tried to force his way out of the club, but SuperSport decided to keep him and it is said that Mbule then decided to go on a go-slow at training.

Sipho Mbule to follow Teboho Mokoena from Supersport United to Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs miss out again

Kaizer Chiefs could be set to lose out on another transfer to Mamelodi Sundowns, as Sipho Mbule looks set to join the Brazilians.

The Supersport United midfielder has been heavily linked with both Chiefs and Sundowns, but the player is reported to be following Teboho Mokoena in leaving Supersport for Sundowns.

Mbule has yet to play for Supersport United this year, and it is unclear if the player is being punished. Supersport United management was understood to be upset with the player when he was approached by Sundowns.
