  • A young Manchester United fan hilariously pranked Darwin Nunez into taking a picture with him
  • Liverpool and Manchester United are often involved in a deep-seated rivalry in the Premier League
  • Nunez was among the goals as Liverpool beat Newcastle over the weekend

The rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United is one of the most feared rivalries in the English Premier League partly because of the level of successes the two sides have enjoyed over the years.

Rare are the times when players swap between the two clubs; only the likes of Paul Ince and Michael Owen have had the courage to do so. Wearing the jersey of your rival is often considered blasphemous at best.

A video circulating online shows a young fan tricking Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez into taking a picture with him. Nunez is seemingly in a mall when he takes the picture with the fan in a grey sweater.

As soon as the picture is taken, the fan removes the sweater and shows Nunez the t-shirt he was wearing underneath - a Manchester United jersey. Upon realising what he had done, the Uruguayan striker smiles sheepishly, knowing that he had been caught red-handed.

Not that it is an offence, but your guess is as good as mine; Nunez would rather have taken a picture with a Reds fan than a Red Devils fan.

Nunez's debut season in EPL

The former Benfica striker has had a slow but sure start in Merseyside, punctuated by discipline issues and Liverpool's general lack of form. One might also be tempted to add Erling Haaland's astronomical numbers to the equation, which makes Nunez's return of 6 goals a joke, but in reality, it isn't. Ask any Chelsea striker.

Liverpool and Manchester United have contrasting forms this season, with the latter in the title race conversation thanks to Erik ten Hag's influence at the club.

Darwin Nunez mocks Everton

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Darwin Nunez enjoyed his second Merseyside derby in England, starring to help his side claim three crucial points at the Anfield Stadium on February 13th.

Liverpool was in dire need of a positive result after a recent run of poor form. The striker started up front alongside Mohamed Salah and new signing Cody Gakpo.

The Uruguayan hitman led a blistering counterattack before setting up Salah in the 36th minute for the opening goal. Gakpo got his first goal for Liverpool in the second half.
