Mohamed Salah has paid a surprise visit to a die-hard Liverpool fan, Eamon, and thanked him for his efforts towards supporting the Premier League giants over the years.

Eamon, who is unable to see has been a good fan of the Reds since 1995 and he was so excited to feel the presence of the Egypt international in his house.

Salah is currently on break since his country failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup and he is now preparing for the resumption of the new season.

According to the video Liverpool posted on their official Twitter page, Eamon was seen thanking Salah for his visit and even called his father to tell him that the former Chelsea player was around.

Statement made by Eamon

''I have been supporting Liverpool since 1995 and I also played football before and I love playing in the midfield because it is a position that other blind people run into you.

''I love passing from the midfield and I can also remember that my dad was the first person who took me to Anfield.''

Meanwhile, Liverpool are currently occupying 6th position on the Premier League table and will face Manchester City in their next game in the EFL Cup.

Salah Ballon d'Or award

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Sadio Mane recorded a contrasting set of fortunes in the 2021/2022 season.

The then Liverpool forward led Senegal to their maiden African Cup of Nations title. He then played a huge part as Liverpool beat Chelsea in both the FA and Carabao Cup finals to complete a domestic double.

They were not as lucky in the Premier League and the Champions League finals however.

That notwithstanding, Mane was a strong contender for the 2022 Ballon d'Or award. One could argue that if Lionel Messi won the 2021 award after leading Argentina to the Copa America, then Mane surely deserved an equal chance.

Mane's only undoing was achieving all he had achieved simultaneously with Karim Benzema's meteoric rise. Not many, not even Mane himself, could argue that Benzema did not deserve the 2022 title.
