Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has expressed his regret at not signing Tottenham Hotspur ace Son Heung-Min.

The German tactician is understood to have failed to land the services of the South Korean back in 2013.

The Daily Mail reports Klopp was the Borussia Dortmund boss then, with Sonny plying his trade with Hamburg.

However, the Tottenham forward snubbed Klopp's Dortmund and opted to join Bayer Leverkusen instead.

According to Klopp, his failure to sign the South Korean international still haunts him.

"One of the biggest mistakes in my life is not signing Son Heung-min. Outstanding player," the Liverpool manager told Korean outlet KBS News. "He is fantastic, a sign of Korean football and one of the best strikers in the world."

Meanwhile, Son went on to spend two years with Bayer Leverkusen before sealing a dream move to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.

The 30-year-old has gone on to enjoy an illustrious career with the north Londoners and has scored an impressive 96 goals so far in 245 appearances.
