Schalke 04 and Liverpool have been dealt a huge injury blow.
Dutch defender, Sepp van den Berg suffered a major ankle injury in the game against Augsburg.
The centre-back, who is on loan at Schalke from English Premier League side Liverpool, had to be stretchered off during the game.
As reported by Bulinews, van den Berg suffered severe ligament damage to his ankle and will be out of action until at least 2023.

The 20-year-old has made four starts for the German side so far this season and has impressed the Bundesliga side. The defender was due to return to Liverpool at the end of the season.
To make matters worse for Schalke, the club also confirmed that Rodrigo Zalazar will be ruled out until next year.
Zalazar suffered a metatarsal fracture during the loss to Augsburg. The news is a massive blow to the team as they have picked up just one win in eight games. They are currently 15th on the Bundesliga table.
