Speaking ahead of the Merseyside derby, Klopp detailed how they dealt with the 23-year-old as quoted by the Independent.

He’s really happy that he’s back and not suspended because every time I gave him a high five I gave him a slap on his neck as well just so he doesn’t forget. That can stop now.

The Uruguyan striker missed out on the defeat to Manchester United and the victories against Bournemouth and Newcastle. Klopp is happy to have his forward return with Diogo Jota also in a race against time to make his first appearance for the season.

Klopp has advised Nunez to put his emotions in check in his subsequent games in the Premier League. Especially against Everton in the Merseyside derby as emotions tend to rise fast inmeetings between the two.

Jurgen Klopp was livid after Nunez's red card against Crystal Palace

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Jurgen Klopp had criticised his striker Darwin Nunez for reacting 'badly' before and after his red card on Monday 15th August.

Nunez had an evening to forget after he was given a straight red card by referee Paul Tierney for head-butting Crystal Palace's defender Joachim Andersen.

It was only Nunez's first start in Liverpool colours and he did it in front of the Kop. But his home debut barely lasted an hour after he succumbed to pressure from Andersen.
