  • Mohamed Salah and Trent-Alexander Arnold looked a little bit lost seconds before their Premier League game against Crystal Palace
  • The duo failed to realise that their teammates had moved on for prematch handshakes with the officials and opponents
  • Football fans did not need a second invitation to poke fun at the situation as Liverpool recorded another frustrating draw

Liverpool teammates Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold provided some temporary comic relief minutes before their game against Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

A video doing rounds on social media spotted by Sports Brief shows the duo maintaining their positions on the prematch lineup despite their teammates moving on.

Liverpool welcomed Crystal Palace to Anfield for their first home game of the season looking to pick up their first three points.

But Salah's and Trent's few moments of absent-mindedness was the only laughing point for Liverpool supporters in what turned out to be a frustrating night.

The club registered its second successive draw after an opening day stalemate away to Fulham. Despite being dominant against Crystal Palace, Wilfried Zaha opened the scoring for the visitors against the run of play.

Record signing Darwin Nunez was then red-carded for violent conduct. Luis Diaz restored parity with a wonderful solo effort as the Reds settled for a point.

At the start of the game, Salah and Trent remained rooted to their spots after their teammates had moved ahead to shake hands with the officials and their opponents. Salah then realises it a few seconds later before beckoning Trent.

Of course, fans had a field day with one trolling Trent's awareness.

Trent has no awareness, just like his defensive skills.

Liverpool face Manchester United next, looking to put their season back on track.

Darwin Nunez apologizes to Liverpool supporters after being red carded

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Darwin Nunez had rendered an unqualified apology following his red card incident during Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

Nunez had a home debut to forget when the Liverpool hitman was given his marching orders by referee Paul Tierney after headbutting Palace defender Andersen.

The 23-year-old ex-Benfica striker was rewarded with his first start following his goal-scoring exploits on his Premier League debut last weekend.
