Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand exhibited his savage side as he declined a Liverpool fan’s request to sign his shirt.

Ferdinand was on punditry duty on Saturday, August 6 and he was among the big names at Craven Cottage for Liverpool’s early kick off clash against Fulham.

Prior to the clash, Ferdinand took some time to interact with some fans and he filmed himself passing out his greetings.

It was then that a young lad wearing a Liverpool shirt asked the Manchester United legend to sign it; a request Ferdinand vehemently turned down.

"He's just asked me to sign a Liverpool shirt, are you crazy?". Ferdinand said on camera.

Ferdinand then went on to add: "I can't sign it, I can't sign a Liverpool shirt man".

Hilariously, he went on to sign the fan’s friend item, before being notified that the friend was also a die-hard Liverpool fan.

As a player, Ferdinand enjoyed an iconic rivalry with Liverpool while representing Manchester United.

He joined United from Leeds in 2002 and went on to make a total of 455 appearances for the Red Devils , winning six Premier League titles in the process.

In 2009, the defender has also been on record speaking of his adoration for Liverpool growing up.

Liverpool frustrated by Fulham

As far as the early kickoff was concerned, Liverpool had to come from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw against newly-promoted Fulham, who were a constant pain for the Reds at Craven Cottage.
