Virgil Van Dijk has come out to express his satisfaction with Liverpool's defensive options. Van Dijk has claimed that no club in the world can rival the centre-backs that Jurgen Klopp has at his disposal.

Joe Gomez recently extended his contract at Anfield, meaning that Liverpool will once again have four top centre-backs going into the new season.

Van Dijk suffered a nasty injury in the 2019/2020 season but made a strong recovery to retake his position at the centre of Liverpool's defence. He has often been Klopp's first choice.

Klopp alternated between Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip as Van Dijk's partners. Both were splendid as Liverpool maintained their charge for a historic quadruple.

The club eventually failed to win the quadruple, losing out on the Premier League to Manchester City and losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

The Mirror reports that Van Dijk also revealed his happiness with Konate who is the youngest of the quarter. The French defender joined Liverpool last season from RB Leipzig and went on to have a wonderful season. He was even selected ahead of Matip in the Champions League final.

He's a very, very good player. What I like the most about him is the will to learn each and every day as well.

Liverpool will once again be looking to Van Dijk for his solidity at the back as they mount a challenge to wrestle the Premier League trophy from Manchester City. The 31-year-old also serves as the side's captain in the absence of Jordan Henderson.

Jurgen Klopp explains Sadio Mane's departure from Liverpool

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Jurgen Klopp had shed light on Sadio Mane's summer transfer to Bayern Munich.

Mane, 30, completed a three-year deal with German giants Bayern Munich this summer, ending his six-storied seasons with Liverpool.

The recently crowned African Best Player has already hit the ground running since swapping the Premier League for the Bundesliga, scoring on his debut for the Bavarian giants against DC United.
