Liverpool centre-back, Ibrahima Konate is enjoying his vacation on the Island of Zanzibar in Africa.

The France defender, who joined Liverpool at the beginning of last season, enjoyed a decent first year with the Reds, winning the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup.

In a video posted on social media, the towering defender is seen riding on a motorbike in an obscure village in Zanzibar.

Konate's impressive campaign saw him earn his first France invite, making an appearance during June's European Nations League.

The former RB Liepzig player is hoping to make France's squad for the World Cup later this year in Qatar.

Having joined Liverpool from the Bundesliga outfit in 2021, Konate made 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring two UEFA Champions League goals.

France coach Didier Deschamps reveals reason for dropping Ibrahima Konate

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that France manager Didier Deschamps opted for William Saliba over Ibrahima Konate ahead of the Nations League games against Croatia and Austria.

Deschamps announced his squad for the games on Thursday leaving the red-hot Liverpool defender out of his team.

Explaining his team selection, Deschamps revealed Konate does not fit in his system and believes William Saliba will do a better in a three-back formation.
