  • Preparations are underway for the crowning of the Premier League champions on the final day of the season
  • Liverpool and Manchester City, who are separated by just a point on the standings have set their sights on carting home the title
  • Reports suggest that as part of the title party preparations, Etihad Stadium will be hosting the real Premier League trophy, while Anfield will receive a replica

The Premier League trophy is reportedly set to be made available at both the Etihad Stadium and Anfield on the final day of the season.

The move is in light of the chances that both Liverpool and Manchester City have in the Premier League title race.

While City have a slight edge over Liverpool ahead of the final round of matches, Jurgen Klopp's men stand an equal chance of being crowned the English champions.

Pep Guardiola's side currently top the standings with 90 points, one above second-placed Liverpool with just a match to go.

Who will host the Premier League trophy?

Traditionally, the Premier League trophy is taken to the match venue where the champions-in-waiting are playing.

As things stand, both City and Liverpool could win the league depending on the outcomes of their final matches of the campaign.

According to the Telegraph, the genuine trophy will be at Manchester City while a fake one will be sent to Liverpool.

It is understood the decision to send the real trophy to Man City is because the league leaders only need to beat Aston Villa to cart home the title.

On their part, Liverpool will need to beat Wolves in their own match to increase their chances of winning the domestic crown.

Be that as it may, The Sun reports preparations for the Reds potentially being crowned champions will be underway at Anfield.

So much so that the Premier League interim chairman Peter McCormick will be at the Kop in readiness for a title party.

Klopp rates Liverpool's EPL title chances

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Jurgen Klopp has claimed Liverpool stands no chance of stopping Manchester City from winning the Premier League title.

The two English heavyweights have set their sights on carrying home the title, with City having a one-point advantage over Liverpool.

City are scheduled to face Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa in their final EPL match of the season as Liverpool entertain Wolves at Anfield.
