City are topping the standings with 90 points, just one ahead of second-placed Liverpool.

The Merseysiders took the Premier League title race to the final day of the season after they staged a comeback on Tuesday night, May 17, to silence Southampton at St.Mary's.

Klopp's men went a goal down in the 13th minute after Nathan Redmond broke the deadlock before Takumi Minamino restored parity before the half-hour mark.

Joel Matip headed home what was the winner in the 67th minute as Liverpool bagged the three points.

Jurgen Klopp rates Liverpool's EPL title chances

Despite Liverpool's vital win at Southampton, Klopp believes his side does not stand any chance of stopping Man City from retaining the English title.

Speaking after the Tuesday night clash, the Reds boss conceded that it is "unlikely" for his men to lift the domestic trophy.

"Of course, it is unlikely because City play at home against Aston Villa, who play only on Thursday. It will be tough against Burnley, they fight for survival," Klopp said when asked to rate his side's EPL title chances.

Klopp admits Liverpool's interest in Mbappe

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool are interested in signing Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe is set to become a free agent this summer but Real Madrid are leading the race to land the Paris Saint Germain forward.

Klopp noted that a player of Mbappe’s calibre will definitely interest any team but his side does not have the firepower to bid for him.
