Tottenham's Harry Kane clinched the prize last season with 23 goals, narrowly beating Salah to award.

However, Salah, who has won the award two times has shown all intent to cart home the gong - thanks to his impressive goalscoring form.

But who else could rival Salah for the Golden Boot award?

While Salah is clear in the Golden Boot race, he is sure to face some stiff competition for the award from other Premier League stars who have been equally incisive in front of goal.

His fellow Liverpool teammate, Diogo Jota, is one such player who could rival the Egypt international, with the former Wolves ace having 12 goals to his name.

Others are Man City's Raheem Sterling who has 10 goals, Heung-Son Min of Tottenham (nine goals), and Emile Smith Rowe of Arsenal who also has nine.

Here are EPL's top goalscorers (after Sunday, February 20 matches):

1. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - 17 goals

2. Diogo Jota (Liverpool) - 12 goals

3. Raheem Sterling (Man City) - 10 goals

4. Heung-min Son (Tottenham) - 9 goals

5. Emile Smith Rowe | Arsenal | 9 goals

6. Emmanuel Dennis | Watford | 9 goals

7. Jamie Vardy | Leicester City | 9 goals

8. Sadio Mane | Liverpool | 9 goals

9. Raphinha | Leeds United | 9 goals

10. Michail Antonio | West Ham | 8 goals

11. Neal Maupay | Brighton | 8 goals

12. Jarrod Bowen | West Ham | 8 goals

13. Riyad Mahrez | Man City | 8 goals

14. Cristiano Ronaldo | Man Utd | 8 goals

15. Bruno Fernandes | Man Utd | 8 goals

Arsenal eyeing Napoli star

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal have intensified their push to sign an experienced midfielder at the end of the ongoing season.

Mikel Arteta was looking at strengthening his midfield during the January transfer window but missed out on key targets.

Reports now suggest the Gunners have opened talks with Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz with the view of bringing the player to the Emirates.
